Round 4 - v St Virgils at Uni 28th April

On a day that produced four seasons Uni had two impressive wins

Reserves - Last Quarter

Having lost a few of his best players to cover injuries in the Seniors, Coach Mick Fitzgerald must
have been pleased with the effort and result.

Missing Captain Brooks, Vice-Captain Gowans and a couple of others it was going to be a tough ask in
difficult conditions.

Surely a rainbow was going to be a good omen!

Jones , Hayes and McAdam in the action early

McEvoy ruled the air all day

Cooper in the rain and not much scoreboard action in the first quarter

Gill keeps the backs on their toes and Matuszek makes it known the ball is his.

Peter McEvoy with a wonderful mark capped of with a straight kick

Hamilton was busy keeping the Saints' forwards quiet
Matuszek to Cooper

Goal to Stewart

We can see you Mav!

There you are....       Joel Sims with his first run in the Seniors

Long bomb from McEvoy

Marks to Stride and Burgess

The raised finger tells the tale...

... another goal to McEvoy. He kicked three for the day and was BOG

McAdam slotted a goal from inside the square to give Uni an 11 point lead at half time.

Jones and Burgess with early touches in the second half

Goal to Reeves who kicked 4

More McEvoy marks

Saint 'Chopper' Burdon was held to one goal by a strong defensive unit

Jack Hamilton was impressive in his first game when he got his chance from the bench.

Down low to McEvoy this time and Cooper marks

Not a textbook kicking action to Fenton and he marks, just avoiding a flying Saint.

Rippon was handy again this week and Coach Burgess was steady all day as usual.

Still only three goal up at the last break and the Saints still pose a real threat.

Has kicked a brilliant goal after streaming through the centre.
Flood gates start to open and another goal - Sterart this time

Jones just getting a hanball away in time
There must be easier ways to handball!

Fantastic running goal from out wide to Hill

Goals galore

Cooper demonstrates a mark to  Saunders
Matuszek kicks his second - unusual celebration style

Reeves in the clear, near the goals! Can he get his fourth?

                            ... you betcha!

Jones, Fenton and Stride playing out the last minutes.

Fantastic win after last week's disappointment and a real challenge next week against Richmond away.
