Round 20 - Reserves 2nd Half

Player depth was stretched this week and a sloppy ground didn't produce the best football but two wins were all that could be asked for.

Seniors - Full game

A couple of senior players found themselves in the reserves this week and with quite a few injuries, there were opportunities for several reserve regulars to strut their stuff in the seniors. To their credit, they performed admirably and contributed to a scrappy victory.

Whittle, Gilmour and Hansen were valuable all day

Nelson and Gilmour with early touches

Whittle opens the account with a strong mark and goal

Marks to Welch, Shaw and Gowans

  Maguire feeds the ball forward
Hamilton played one of his best games for the year

Nearly 2 goals down at the first break and Coach Beams wasn't really impressed.

Hansen with another possession and Wech trying to find touch in his second game for the year

Welch clears while Hamilton prepares to crumb to the strong marking Gowans and Brooks is a picture of concentration.

First of 3 goals to Reeves

Sliding mark to Welch and Shaw working hard on the depleted backline.

Hoult was solid and named in the best

President Stewart was active on the forward line.

Only 3 points down in a low scoring affair with both sides making basic errors.

Burgess had a terrific day

Scott was dashing as usual

Look out Brooksie!

Niejalke made it difficult for OHA forwards all day and a clever mark and goal to Gowans

Gowans celebrates and Shaw works his way through the mud.

Riseley was dangerous when given his opportunity and Nelson played well in conditions that didn't suit him.

Stewart gets away with a timely block to allow Gowans to mark and goal. Bailey provided dash from the back.

OHA were sticking like the wicket mud. Still 4 points down at the last change and goals not coming easily.

Marks to Burgess, Whittle and Gilmour

Scott came to life and Whittle's strong marking was a feature of the last quarter

  Stewart played his role well
The Flash is too fast for the lens to focus!

Valuable goal to Whittle and and a mark within range to Reeves

Gilmour making friends and Gowans rehearses for Dancing With The Stars.

.... meanwhile Reeves converts truly and celebrates with a really high five!

Stewart with a safe mark in defense and Gowans with another mark

Another goal to Reeves, mark to Gowans and push in the back to Riseley who goaled

With a handy lead, the old hands weren't going to let this one slip away.

Well done umps in what were tough conditions.

A 17 point win in the end and well done to the players elevated for this game.

Not a particularly attractive game but a good contest enjoyed by the crowd at the last home game for the season
