New Jumper 2020
At the end of 2019, the TUFC changed their long-time
affiliation from the Tasmanian University Sports Council to The University of
Tasmania itself. While on the surface this appears to be a minor change, there
has been a lot of work in the background to ensure a smooth transition in
ensuring a sustainable, long-term relationship. However, one visible difference
that will be noticed by supporters as the players run out for the first time in
season 2020, is a change to the TUFC playing jumper. The UTAS sporting colours
are predominately red, black, and white, and so the yellow, which has been a
significant part of the TUFC jersey for most of its proud history, has been
replaced with the grey. This is an important step to align all University clubs
to a similar colour scheme while representing UTAS, but also retains the stripes
that have been synonymous with The TUFC in the old scholars for many years. The
yellow may be gone but it is not forgotten, with a yellow ‘TUFC’ on the back of
the jumper as a note
to its place in our history.
